Winter 2023 Updates
It's been a busy few months!
A Christmas Carol returned in full to the Campbell House Museum in Dec 2022,
once again selling out the entire run with Sare at the helm as director.
Sare took part in Talk is Free Theatre's Digital Theatre Creation workshop, part of their Theatre Artist Training Program.
SLIP, the upcoming series Sare has a small part in, will be airing on Roku starting April 21! Created, directed by, and starring Zoe Lister-Jones and produced by Dakota Johnson, the series had its premiere in March 2023 at SXSW. Watch the trailer now!

Summer 2022 Work
Sare will be assistant directing the Guild Festival Theatre's production of CHEKHOV'S SHORTS running August 18-28. Check out the GFT website for more details and to get your tickets.
Season 2 of SLO PITCH is now available to watch on OutTV! Catch Sare in episode 8 as a member of the Capybara Buddies slow pitch team (falling on the field while holding a plate of cookies...typical.)
Trailers for Web Series
The trailers for two web series Sare acted in have dropped! YOU'RE NEVER ALONE and Season 2 of SLO PITCH.
Staged Reading of A CHRISTMAS CAROL
Sare ended 2021 by directing a staged reading of The Three Ships Collective's immersive, site-specific production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, set in Toronto's historic Campbell House Museum. While the run was cut short due to the Omicron variant, audiences and artists enjoyed two performances of this yuletide ghost story in Campbell House's ballroom, accompanied by live music and a roaring fire. Fingers crossed that the production can return in some form for the holiday season in 2022.
Back On Camera
In the summer of 2021, Sare booked a couple of on-camera roles: a member of a rival softball team
on season 2 of SLO PITCH, and a PSA for Smart Serve. Season 2 of SLO PITCH will air in 2022.
Canada Council Grant for AMERICAN TRADITIONAL
Sare and circus artist Tamara Salpeter have received a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts to further develop their original theatre/circus hybrid work AMERICAN TRADITIONAL, which explores the life of Maud Wagner: a circus performer who became the first known woman tattoo artist in the US in the early 1900s. Sarah and Tamara began creating this work in 2018, with the help of an Ontario Arts Council Recommender Grant (recommended by Volcano Theatre). Stay up-to-date with this project on Instagram.

Working From Home During Covid-19 Lockdowns
Sare has been able to use their skills as a performer to work as a standardized patient and client, helping post-secondary students and up-and-coming professionals in various fields work on their communication and interpersonal skills.

Anti-Racism Work
As a white person, Sare recognizes that they are complicit in and benefit from systemic racism and white supremacy. Over the last year, they have been taking part in anti-racism and anti-oppression courses and engaging in independent research to further their knowledge of systemic racism, particularly in the arts industry. For fellow theatre artists, Sare highly recommends taking part in Nicole Brewer's Anti-Racist Theatre course.
